Of Art & Dancing

Why doesn't our nubby little town do anything fun? Whyyyyy?

I'm feeling rather artsy today. Just another one of those days, hahaha. (:
What I really want to do is find my pastels and work with them, or make chalk art... if I had smooth sidewalk and bright-colored chalk, that is. Which I don't.
Ooorrrrr.... I kinda have the urge to paint something. But those never turn out any good. :D Then again... I did find that blank canvas in the garage today...

Okay! Moving on now. (: My cousins are coming soon, and I just got done with the dance recital yesterday!
Cotton Eye Joe was totally awesome! Even if I looked like an eight-year-old. :D
The Can-Can was pretty cool as well. We finally got the kick-line down at the last minute!
Stupid Cupid was, surprisingly, pretty fun to do. I totally sugared it up, because that's what I do in recitals lol.
Chorus Line was... ASDDGNASDGOKJASDFKLJSADF. So AWESOME. No Words. NO WORDS. I didn't get very good pictures of it, but I have a short snipet of a video of the kick-line, which was AAAHH! :D
All in all, I lurved the recital and I'm so glad it came together. (: Thanks to Lauri and all of the awesome people who worked on it. Shout out to my amazing dance friends! And a good luck to Julianna and Cassidy! Have an awesome time in college! (:

I'm really going to miss going to dance this summer. And I'm reeeeeaaally excited for The Lion King next year as our recital! I think I may have to go watch that movie now. (:

A Cloudy Summer...

...is my dream. No offense to the Sun or Sun-lovers, but I positively abhore how hot it is. Especially in the valley. :P This morning was cloudy for about an hour, and I was extremely happy to not wake up with the hot sun blinding me. (:

Well! Good morning world and all who inhabit it! :D

I have recieved some pretty disturbing news... to me at least, lol. http://news.thedoctorwhosite.co.uk/no-full-2012-doctor-who-series/ What is this?!? D:

In other news... (Spoliers are now happening if you haven't watched Season 6 of Doctor Who!) I KNEW IT. As soon as Amy named her daughter Melody, I was all... "RIVER SONG. Ohmehgod that is HER." I called it. Yes.
AAAND, I also called that it was River who shot the Doctor, which must be true now that we have established that child=Melody=River... right? That's my logic, haha.
And what the hell? Remember at the end of "Day of the Moon" when the girl regenerated in front of a hobo?? Does River have a timehead or what?! Hahaha. I must know. Now.

Moving on. Some of you who follow me on dA have asked, "Why for you no post journals? D: " Weeelll, to answer "Why for" I don't: Simply, because I post here! I mean... if I were to ever post a journal there, I'd probably just copy & paste these posts into them, haha. I am lazy that way. I could do that though. So if you want me to, just say so, lol. (:

Oh, and by the way, summer is here! :D Eh, not really, but school is out at least! :DD Summer begins officially in four days. (:

Because I am out of school, I have more time to do useless things! Yay! Hahahha. (:

Literary news:
I finished Boneshaker, finally. (: Fantastic read if you have the time! I loved it. Cherie Priest is a born steampunk author. The AU universe was stunningly creative and had all the things we teenagers want (besides romance, because who needs love anyway?): zombies, steampunk, guns, amazing characters, strong female roles, and the average stupid teen who thinks he can do anything. (: Beautiful story.
I started reading The Mortal Instruments series. I like it so far. I'm on the second book, but I haven't read it in some time. Good, all the same.
Also... I have no summer assignments for my classes next year. To be honest, I was kind of hoping to get a few. I'm such a nerd, lol. Only because I was looking forward to having something to do this summer, you know? Whatevs.

I write really long posts... So I must stop here.

Stay Golden,
Katelyn

Mind Control

What? A post from Katelyn? How is this possible?!

You haven't heard from me since Christmas! That's crazy! We must fix that.

Well, to start you off, it's been six months. Which means I can put off Turn Loose the Angels no further. Well... I could, but I should not! D: So I will attempt to finish it before the deadline for my "free proof copy" lol. (:

In other news, County Science Fair is over! It has been for like... two or three months. O.o And YEAH! I placed again! I was so very happy to hear that! Unfortunately, I was in Virginia when the ceremony was, but my science teacher picked up my stuff. I got first place in my category! Aaannd I won first place in my school's science fair as well. :) (WOT? This is MADNESS!) So that was all pretty awesome. My excruciatingly painful work has paid off. :D

Now the reason I was in Virginia that day was that I went on my eighth grade trip to Washington D.C., which was so very full of awesomeness. After spending three days there, we headed off to Philadelphia for a day, and then to New York. I think New York was probably the funnest for most of the people on the trip because it was less of a learning experience and more excitement really. However, I loved New York (being the creepy nerd I am) because of all the history. Ellis Island was super awesome, because I found a bunch of family members who passed through there. Aaaannd, I passed by a house where my great grandparents had lived in Little Italy. Was pretty coooool.

Doctor Who has started up again in America! WOOOO! Hahaha. Steven Moffat is such a genius; this is why Russel T. Davies will never be appreciated. (: I absolutely adored the way that the new season has opened up. The Silence is now added to my list of amazing Doctor Who monsters! River still annoys me, but a little bit less now that we've seen more of her. But Amy! I don't understand why she treats Rory the way she does. I love Rory, and he deserves much better. She needs to just stop flirting with the Doctor so he can be happy. D:

In other news, I've been drawing a lot. As always. I feel like I say the same thing in every post, lol. I feel like I'm sort of improving? But I also find my style leaning closer and closer to a cartoon-ish style. I don't know. Just go check out my deviantART because I have some serious mind control over y'all. >:D

Oh, and my life's dream is to get a pet llama.

School is so close to being over that it's sad! Something about Spring Break just makes kids want to give up on school. D: Especially me. And... guh! Alison and Safieh won't be here on Thursday or Friday, so I will have loneliness in Science class. D: Depressssssiioooonnn. *sigh*

I must stop procrastinating and finish my novel!! D:

Hugs & Kisses,
Katelyn

EVERYTHING!

Yes, everything! I've got so much to tell y'all. :D
So fast-forwarding a bit... ziiiiiiiipp! I've recently gotten into Chameleon Circuit and I listen a lot to Charlie McDonnell (but I've been doing that forever, haha). I finally saw the 5th season of Doctor Who, and how exciting it was!
Matt Smith brings back a lot of how the old Doctor Who was in Tom Baker's heyday. A tad bit of drama but lot's of fun with wit and humor in between. Of course, Tennant had some episodes like that too. But Smith is really bringing it out with shining victory! Love it.
I watched Doctor Who at the Proms and the new Christmas Special (in which I LOVED. One of the best of the 5th season by far.). So Doctor Who, Eleventh Doctor-wise,  is so far impressing me. (:

Back tracking now! Back to November. I completed my second year of NaNoWriMo! I got a winner's t-shirt (and for Christmas I actually got a NaNo sweatshirt too). :D I actually finished my 50k in Disneyland! That was pretty cool for me. Which leads me to...
Yesh, I went to Disneyland again this year! It was pretty fun, considering all of the Tron promotions going on. There was a special promotion that was called "ElecTRONica" that I especially enjoyed. It was a really cool night club-ish thing for teens that was open after the park closed. Even better, for one night only, the winners of America's Best Dance Crew performed! I got to see it front row, and got the entire show on my phone's video camera. The sound quality was crappy, but I got all the moves. :D ElecTRONica also provided a 9 minute 3D sneak peek at the movie in IMAX with special FX. This was of course before the movie came to theaters. It was pretty awesome. (:
I met a couple cool dancers while there, but not enough to get their phone numbers lol (audience *aww*). So that was that.

For Christmas, I got a nice camera, a new sketchbook, prismacolor pencils(!!), a monocle(bwahaha), a pound of chocolate bar(:D), a book about Steampunkery and one about Sock Monkeys(lol), many hats, a pretty cool jacket, a NaNoWriMo sweatshirt, and lots of muse! I drew a lot on Christmas Day.
If you want to see any of these drawings, just check out my Facebook, or my deviantART page. I'm much too lazy to post any. Oh and if you didn't know, my deviantART is: http://countingmystars.deviantart.com/

Anyhoo. Lately I've just been hanging around, fiddling with ideas for my various stories, and doodling like mad. I finished Unwind by Neil Shusterman. It was ahhmazingg! You all must read it. This book doesn't have as many readers as it should. Thank you Alison for introducing it to me!
I started reading that Vampire Academy series again last night, desparate for something to read. It's not so bad. I'm waiting to get to a book store to buy Zombies vs. Unicorns or Clockwork Angel... or maybe even Mortal Instruments, since I know so many people that liked it. I've always tended to steer away from books about people with wings, but after a couple years, I guess I'm giving in, hahaha.
I've decided that I'm going to be a Dalek for Halloween next year also. Yep, it shall be pretty awesome. Can't wait. (:

I go back to school on Wednesday (D:). Noooo! I am quite sad. But I'm already halfway through the year. Yay...? Meh.
Well, that's about it, haha. Sums up most of everything. Alas, I've forgotten the rest. :D

My first post of 2011. Ta ta.

Lists and Blurbs

Lately I've been getting on track of NaNoWriMo (it's almost over! :O ) So I've been watching a lot of TV, Doctor Who, The Office, various movies, and such in my free time (such as now.).
The other day my friend and I were talking about actors (particularly the pretty ones, hurrr), and I've just been thinking of my favorites, and I feel the need to make a list. Yeah, you've been warned.
So here's a list of my favorite actors/actresses. :) Complete with pictures (woo!).

In no particular order...

1. David Tennant

What can I say? He's just amazing. In both Harry Potter 4 and Doctor Who(and even in Hamlet :D). He is too cool, British, AND extremely funny. I love all of his movies, and his hair.

2. Ben Barnes
He's too cute, haha. I may not have liked him as much in his role as Caspian, but I think he did an awesome job as Dorian Gray and his hair is so volumptuous. I think his hair looks good at any length too, short included. (:

3. Catherine Tate
A couple patterns you seeing? Great hair and a lot of these people are British. (: Catherine is really quite funny, and I loved her as Donna Noble. I'm looking forward to seeing her in the new Gulliver's Travels movie. Gonna be awesome. :D

4. Emma Watson
I love her new haircut by the way (though I don't have a picture at the mome.) Of course I love her as Hermione Granger, but I thought she was also cute in The Tale of Despereaux(but I don't really like that movie. :P)

5. Angelina Jolie
I like a lot of her movies, like Salt. Although she disturbingly reminds me of Dren from Splice. O_o Haha, I'm not really sure what her latest movie is about though. :)

5. Johnny Depp
Every movie he's ever been in has become an instant fave for me. He is just so cool. I loved him in POTC, Edward Scissorhands, Alice in Wonderland, Corpse Bride. Though I barely understood The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus, I thought he did great in that movie as well.
I can't believe they're making another POTC movie though! D:

6. Nicole Kidman
Her hair is all purty when it's red! She's just a great actor in general. She did great in Moulin Rouge and Bewitched, and various other places that I've seen her in.

So I feel like I'm going on and on about random stuff, so I'll stop now, haha. Those are just a few peeps that interest me. Any preferences of yours that you'd like to share? I'm sure I've forgotten some.
OH!
I just remembered two more guys.
Gaspard Ulliel
 (french hottness. O.O)
and Colin Morgan :)
Hahahaha, Merlin. :D

Anyway...  So that was my blurb of the day. Excited to see the new version of Tron, haha, and Burlesque. (:

Wibbly-wobbly,
Timey-wimey,
Katelyn
